Multi-Cultural Dances Community Need

More art centered activities are needed within low-income communities, especially within the schools. These activities teach students valuable employment and interpersonal skills. Students of low-income families sometimes do not have the opportunity to participate because of the availability of these programs within their community. That is why F.A.C.E.S. is focusing our efforts to bring these activities to these low-income communities.

Community Benefits

During these classes, the students will learn valuable job skills such as time management, organizational skills, professional presentation, and appropriate communication with both teachers and peers. The students will incorporate these skills into the production of a public performance showcasing their talents.

  • The students will be more knowledgeable of employment skills such as effective communication, organizing projects, time management, and teamwork.
  • The students will start to understand cultural differences and become more accepting as they work together.
  • As students work with the teachers, they will start to listen and follow directions as they value working together towards a common goal.
  • The students will learn performance and production skills as they get ready for their public performance. Students learn about performance preparation, choreography, costume design, make-up, and time management. They are able to see from start to finish how a performance fits altogether.
  • Our community class performances are a way to preserve cultures and art forms that might not otherwise be preserved. Our goal is to build a solid core of classes and performances that are flexible to the needs of the community.
