It is way too often that we see kids fall behind in school. Sometimes it is because of mental or emotional problems. Sometimes it is because of poverty and their parents do not know how to get help. I believe that all kids deserve the same chances, regardless of their background. Helping some of the less fortunate kids get a good start with reading is important to me. It is a very important part of day to day life. My mission is to help every kid get a chance to learn, read, and grow. I believe there can be a solution to the problem if everyone works together.

I believe if kids are given the chance to learn to read and to gain a better understanding of this world, the future will be brighter. I plan to achieve my goal by going out and exploring community resources and by getting the proper training. By working one on one with these kids, I hope to help them develop the skills they need to be on the same level as kids their age who get proper education. They will be more likely to graduate from high school, go to college and get a job. If more and more kids are helped out, I believe that it will help stop the cycle of homelessness.
